Lorenzo Donadeo, P.Eng. Chief Executive Officer & Director

  • Experience:  More than 30 years experience in the oil and gas business, including mergers and acquisitions, gas marketing, production, exploitation and field operations in western Canada and internationally in Australia, France, the Netherlands, Trinidad and Tobago. Lorenzo was a co-founder of Vermilion Resources (1994), now Vermilion Energy Inc. and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer.  From 2003 to March 2014, Lorenzo served as President and Chief Executive Officer.  Lorenzo served as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Vermilion when the company made its initial international forays into France (1997) and later Trinidad and Tobago (1999) through Aventura Energy Inc. Lorenzo was President and CEO of Vermilion when the company founded Verenex in 2004, a company that was subsequently active in Libya. Prior to Vermilion, Lorenzo worked at Dome Petroleum and Amoco Canada, as well as a private oil and gas company.

Anthony Marino, P.Eng., CFA President & Chief Operating Officer

  • Experience:  Mr. Marino is an accomplished senior executive with a proven track record of high performance during his 30-year career in the energy industry.  Mr. Marino is President & Chief Operating Officer of Vermilion and joined Vermilion in June, 2012 as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to this, Mr. Marino held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Baytex Energy Corporation, after initially serving as Baytex's Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to joining Baytex, Mr. Marino held the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Exploration Canada Ltd.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Marino held a variety of technical and management positions with AEC Oil and Gas (USA) Inc., Santa Fe Snyder Corp. and Atlantic Richfield Company. Mr. Marino brings strong experience in production operations and the development of oil and gas resource plays to Vermilion. In addition to his operating experience, Mr. Marino also has an extensive background in business development and oil and gas marketing.

Anthony (Tony) Marino

John Donovan, F.C.A. Executive Vice President Business Development

  • Experience:  More than 30 years of industry experience. John is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in international business development, A&D, negotiations and M&A. Prior to joining Vermilion in March 2005 John advised many clients on upstream A&D / M&A opportunities in North and South America and Asia with Harrison Lovegrove (now Standard Chartered Bank). Prior to that, John spent 24 years with ConocoPhillips responsible for international business development, acquisitions and dispositions, farmins and farmouts, financial management and control, joint venture management, strategy and portfolio management & investment appraisal.

Curtis W. Hicks, C.A. Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

  • Experience:  More than 30 years of industry experience, primarily in the financial area of oil and gas operations, as well as property and corporate acquisitions. From 2000 to 2003 he was Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer with NAL Oil & Gas Trust, prior to this, he was Chief executive Officer of Caravan Oil & Gas Ltd. from 1998 to 2000.  He began his career with ELAN Energy Inc. in 1983, serving as their Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer as ELAN grew from 200 bbls/d to over 35,000 bbls/d.

Curtis W. Hicks

Mona Jasinski, M.B.A., C.H.R.P. Executive Vice President People

  • Experience:  More than 20 years of human resources and organizational effectiveness experience, primarily in the oil and gas industry including operations and mergers & acquisitions.  Before joining Vermilion, she spent five years with Royal Dutch Shell, most recently as Onshore Productions, North America, Human Resources Manager.  Prior to that she worked at TransCanada Pipelines and in Management Consulting specializing in strategy, leadership effectiveness and talent management.  Ms. Jasinski currently serves on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Calgary as Chair of the Governance Committee.

Terry Hergott Vice President Marketing

  • Experience:  Terry has more than 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, of which more than 22 years have been in marketing.  Prior to joining Vermilion, he spent 16 years working for Marathon Oil with the last 14 years heading up the Marathon Petroleum Canadian Supply and Trading subsidiary.  Previously he headed up the crude oil, natural gas liquids and sulphur marketing group for Numac Energy, an Alberta based public oil & gas company and worked for Mobil Oil Canada in the crude oil and ngl supply and trading marketing group.

Michael Kaluza Vice President Canada Business Unit

  • Experience:  Mike has over 31 years of delivering results in North America and overseas in the energy business. On May 1, 2014, Mr. Kaluza was appointed to the position of Vice President, Canada Business Unit. Mr. Kaluza joined Vermilion in February, 2013 as Director, Canada Business Unit and prior to that he was Vice President of Corporate Development and Planning at Baytex Energy. Mike's earlier roles included Chief Operating Officer at Delphi Energy and various technical and management positions at Dominion E&P / Dominion Exploration Canada Ltd. and Phillips Petroleum Company.

Daniel Goulet, P.Eng. Director Corporate HSE

  • Experience:  Brings 20 years of domestic and international experience in oil and gas industry in Canada, Gabon and France. He held senior positions in reservoir, production and operations engineering at PanCanadian Petroleum before becoming the in-country Operations Manager in Gabon for Ocelot Energy. Daniel was with Vermilion's French organization for 7 years and held the position of Operations and Engineering Manager prior to becoming in-country Managing Director.  On March 1, 2008, Daniel returned to Canada to take on the position of Director Production and Operations, Canada.  Daniel's strong operations background will serve him well in his current role as Director, Corporate Health, Safety and Environment .

Dion Hatcher, P.Eng. Director Alberta Foothills Asset Area

  • Experience:  Dion has over 17 years of industry experience focused on production and operations engineering, asset management and business development, working onshore and offshore in Europe and Canada.  Dion joined Vermilion in 2006 as an exploitation engineer on the France team and in 2008 progressed to the role France Exploitation Manager.  In 2010, Dion assumed responsibility for managing the development of Vermillion’s extensive Cardium and Mannville land position in the Drayton Valley area; successfully growing production from 7,000 boe/d to over 17,000 boe/d today.  Prior to joining Vermilion, Dion worked in various engineering, operations, exploitation and project management roles with Chevron Canada Resources.

Bryce Kremnica, P.Eng. Director Field Operations – CBU

  • Experience:  Bryce brings more than 20 years of domestic and international experience in the oil and gas industry primarily in engineering, production operations and asset management.  Bryce joined Vermilion in 2005 as a production engineer working on various Canadian assets.  In 2009, he relocated to the Netherlands where he initially led the facilities and production engineering groups eventually assuming the role of Operations Manager.  Bryce returned to Canada in 2011 as Production Manager and in 2012 took on additional operational responsibilities as the Field Operations Manager. Prior to joining Vermilion, Bryce worked in various operations, exploitation,  project management and engineering roles, including reservoir, production, process and facilities with ConocoPhillips Canada and Chevron Canada Resources.

Dean N. Morrison, CFA Director Investor Relations

  • Experience:  Dean is an experienced investor relations professional with over 16 years of financial, operational and analytical experience across large and small capitalization companies in the oil and gas production, transportation, real estate and industrial sectors. Prior to joining Vermilion, Mr. Morrison worked on the development of key strategies to maximize shareholder value while in senior investor relations roles at a variety of publically traded companies and royalty trusts in addition to equity sales and marketing roles in the private equity sector. Mr. Morrison is a past Director and Treasurer for the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI).
  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Finance from the Haskayne School of Business and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute

Mike Prinz Director Information Technology

  • Experience:  More than 20 years of industry experience, with a strong background in IT operations and project management.  Prior to joining Vermilion in 2004, Mike worked as an independent consultant providing project management services and strategic IT reviews for a wide range of companies from technology startups to large oil and gas companies. From 1988 to 2000, Mike worked as a consultant at Minerva Technology where he gained a breadth of experience in enterprise IT architecture, project management, software development, practice building and team leading for a variety of sectors including oil and gas, health and government.

Mike Prinz

Jenson Tan Director New Ventures

  • Experience:  Jenson has an extensive background in exploration, development, and commercial negotiation in North America, Asia, and Europe in both technical and managerial roles. Jenson joined Vermilion's Business Development group in 2010 and has since led numerous acquisition and land purchase evaluations culminating in successful transactions in France, Netherlands, and Canada. Prior to joining Vermilion, he was Asset Team Leader at ConocoPhillips Canada, managing production, development and exploration activities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. His earlier commercial and technical experience included work for various ConocoPhillips operating subsidiaries in the U.S. Gulf Coast, China and Indonesia.

Jensen Tan

In Europe

Gerard Schut, P.Eng. Vice President European Operations

  • Experience:  Brings over 25 years of international experience in the oil and gas industry including strong HSE, subsurface, operations, asset development, acquisitions and divestitures experience. In his most recent position prior to joining Vermilion, he was the General Manager of Chevron's E&P business in The Netherlands, responsible for business development and production activities offshore. He successfully increased gross production from 5,000 BOE/d in 2005 to 25,000 BOE/d in 2011 and led the acquisition and development of industry firsts in shallow gas development in the North Sea. During his 10 year tenure with Unocal in Thailand, Gerard successfully introduced slimhole drilling with monobore completions, reducing capital cost and improving recovery efficiency. As Asset Manager he initiated the fast-track appraisal and development of the Plamuk, Surat and Yala oil reservoirs in the predominantly gas-rich area around Platong, resulting in oil production rates reaching over 50,000 boe/d and booked reserves exceeding 200 MMboe's.

Darcy Kerwin, P.Eng. Managing Director France Business Unit

  • Experience:   Darcy brings more than 17 years of industry experience, with a focus on engineering and production operations in North America, West Africa, Australia, and Europe.  Darcy joined Vermilion in 2005 as the Interim General Manager of our Australia Business Unit.  After his assignment in Australia, Darcy spent five years in the France Business Unit leading facilities engineering and asset integrity functions before returning to Canada in 2011 as Facilities Engineering Manager.  Prior to joining Vermilion, he worked in various engineering and project management roles with Chevron in Canada, Houston and Nigeria.

  • Experience:  More than 20 years of industry experience, with a strong and diverse background in operations, financial management, and business development assessments.  Prior to joining Vermilion in 2004, Neil was the Finance Manager for Chevron's Western Canadian business unit.. During his 12 year tenure at Chevron, Neil also gained experience as an operations supervisor and a budgeting and financial analyst. At Vermilion, Neil has held roles as a Corporate Planner and most recently as Vermilion's Operations Controller.

Bruce Lake, P.Eng. Managing Director Australia Business Unit

  • Experience:  Brings 30 years industry experience in offshore and onshore Australian and New Zealand producing basins primarily in Technical and Operational/Asset Management roles. Bruce has spent the last ten years as Operations Manager for Apache Energy in Australia. Previously Operations Manager/Asset Manager for Ampolex through the expansion of Wandoo A and Engineering and Design and Development of Wandoo B. Was a drilling manager for Santos/Delhi in onshore Cooper Basin followed by supervising engineer-drilling for Esso's Base Strait Bream development and workover production enhancement program followed by operations manager for WMC's Carnavon Basin and New Zealand operated assets.
