Canada Second Quarter Overview

Vermilion continued an ongoing workover and recompletion program in Canada. Vermilion also expanded its natural gas handling capacity in the Drayton Valley area to provide for future drilling and third party processing demands.

Operational Activities

In Canada, Vermilion’s activities were focused on workovers and recompletions as well as the expansion of the gas gathering and compression facilities in the West Pembina area. No wells were drilled during the quarter. The drilling program for the second half of 2008 began July 2, 2008, with plans to drill in the Drayton Valley and Utikuma areas until break-up 2009. Vermilion will also participate in selective partner operated coalbed methane drilling in Central Alberta.
