Community Investment

Each year, Vermilion continues to demonstrate commitment to the care of our people and the environment by enriching the communities where we live and work.

An example of this is Energy in Action - an environmental stewardship program of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP).

For three weeks every May, a team of local volunteers from the energy sector visits school children in select communities to participate in education sessions and schoolyard environmental renewal projects.

• In 2011, we joined other CAPP member companies to help students at WestHaven School in Edson, AB plant trees and revitalize a ROW in proximity to Edson Creek.
• In 2010, we were the Team Lead on two initiatives at schools in Drayton Valley, AB. We helped introduce composting initiatives and helped build eco-spaces at Evergreen Elementary and Eldorado Drayton Christian School.
• In 2009, we were the Team Lead in Niton Junction, AB where we helped transform Niton Central School's garden courtyard into a pollinator's paradise!
• In 2008, we were the Team Lead in Delburne, AB where company volunteers helped students from Delburne Centralized School plant 100 trees throughout their schoolyard.
