Vermilion continues to pursue creative solutions to improve the environment.
Vermilion has entered into a cogeneration project with a producer of greenhouse tomatoes to capture waste heat and previously flared natural gas from its Parentis Field in France. This will fuel the annual production of more than 8,000 tonnes of fresh, ripe, red juicy tomatoes.
The agricultural production, respectful of the environment, is based on integrated biological protection (insect against insect) to avoid the use of pesticides. The tomato beds are raised on organic substrates (coconut shells) that are completely recycled at the end of the crop cycle. All the water used in the grow operations is fully recycled. At Vermilion, RED is the new green.
