{"id":2122,"date":"2023-01-19T23:12:09","date_gmt":"2023-01-19T23:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vermilionenerg.wpengine.com\/nl\/?p=2122"},"modified":"2023-01-19T23:13:11","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T23:13:11","slug":"drilling-of-first-lds-well-completed-in-wapse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vermilionenergy.com\/nl\/2023\/01\/19\/drilling-of-first-lds-well-completed-in-wapse\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Drilling of first LDS well completed in Wapse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Pa2\"><strong>Vermilion Energy started drilling the first well to the LDS gas fields from the existing Wapse site on Noordenveldweg at the end of last year.\u00a0Last weekend the work for the first well was completed and we started drilling the second well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Pa2\">From the end of August to the beginning of October 2022, preparatory work was carried out to prepare the Wapse location for the drilling.\u00a0In mid-November, the derrick and associated equipment were transported to the site and assembled.\u00a0After that, the drilling of the first well started at the end of November and we continue to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><strong>Drilling second well started<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\">In the meantime, the drilling of the first well has been completed and it turned out that there is natural gas in the deep underground.\u00a0Now the second well is being drilled from the same location.\u00a0This second drilling is expected to be completed at the beginning of February.\u00a0Then the equipment is collected again and the transport movements are as much as possible during the day.\u00a0The wells are then connected to the existing facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><strong>Test gas and start production<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\">After connecting the wells to the existing gas extraction facilities, we will test the gas.\u00a0This is done in the existing pipelines, which prevents the need for flaring.\u00a0We expect to be able to start production in April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><strong>Information for the environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just next to the mining site, Vermilion has set up a visitor center during the drilling.\u00a0In December, Vermilion has already received several groups in the visitor center, such as residents, but also national and regional governments.\u00a0In the visitor center you can find information on various topics related to the LDS drilling.\u00a0Visitors have also been able to view the activities at the location from a distance and outside the fences.\u00a0The last visits are planned in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Pa2\"><strong>Do you have questions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We do everything we can to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible and we are always available for any questions.\u00a0You can contact us via our telephone number 0517 \u2013 493 333 or e-mail address\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:infonl@vermilionenergy.com\">infonl@vermilionenergy.com<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vermilion Energy started drilling the first well to the LDS gas fields from the existing Wapse site on Noordenveldweg at the end of last year.\u00a0Last weekend the work for the first well was completed and we started drilling the second well.
