Processing & Transportation

After natural gas is produced, it is transported by pipeline to a processing facility where the raw gas is cleaned and impurities such as water, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide are removed.  Natural gas that has undergone this processing is referred to as ‘pipeline quality’ dry natural gas.

In Germany, Vermilion’s processed natural gas is then gathered in the Erdgas Munster GmbH (“EGM”) gas network with gas from other producers in the region. These gases are then blended to ensure the output is of the correct calorific value to be sold into the low calorific regulated German gas market.
