Vermilion Exploration & Production Ireland Limited is a member of the Vermilion Energy group of companies with operations focused in North America, Europe and Australia.
Vermilion has been a committed partner in the Corrib project since 2009 and is the longest-serving participant in the asset. As majority owner with a 56.5% interest, Vermilion is Ireland’s largest producer of natural gas. The Company assumed operatorship in 2018 and currently employs more than 100 staff and contractors supporting safe and efficient operations at the site.
As Ireland’s largest energy investment, Corrib focuses on the development and production of conventional natural gas and supplies 100% of the country’s indigenous gas production. We believe domestically produced natural gas plays a vital role in Ireland’s energy mix — delivering secure, reliable and cost-effective energy for homes, businesses and communities.
Vermilion understands that we all have a role to play in addressing the environmental impacts of a carbon economy, whether as producers or consumers of fossil fuel energy. That is why we remain committed to minimizing our environmental impact by investing in technologies to maximize energy and water-use efficiency as well as reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. We carefully consider the lands and people impacted by our operations and we treat our people, partners, suppliers, and members of the community respectfully and fairly.

As a responsible energy producer, Vermilion strives to be a considerate neighbour and is committed to giving back to the communities where our people live and work, through our Vermilion Ways of Caring program. This includes community programs and investment, such as a local grants programme, sponsorships and scholarships, in Ireland.

Our production activities focus on sustainable and environmentally safe operations. The Corrib Natural Gas Field is located 83 kilometres off the northwest coast of County Mayo, Ireland, approximately 3,000 metres under the seabed and in waters 350 metres deep. A high-grade carbon steel pipeline carries the gas to shore at the Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal, where the gas is processed and fed into the Gas Network Ireland (GNI) pipeline network.
At Vermilion, our people deliver excellence daily, around the world. Supported by a strong leadership team, our staff drive a high performing, engaged, collaborative and community-minded culture that is the single most important factor in our success.
